contemplative medicine fellowship 2024-2025
I am thrilled to be part of this year’s cohort of the Contemplative Medicine Fellowship, a 12-month program developed by the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care.
This multi-faceted fellowship for physicians and advanced practice clinicians explores the integration of personal contemplative practice with clinical care, systemic change and leadership, all in service of increasing capacity for compassion and alleviation of suffering.
Capstone Project
Embracing Clinical Uncertainty in an Era of Evidence-Based Practice:
contemplative practices to support midwifery students as they navigate the transition to independent clinicians
My capstone project will explore the literature on medical student and resident experience of clinical uncertainty, pedagogical interventions to increase tolerance of uncertainty, and implications for the role of contemplative practices as a tool to support midwifery students’ transition to independent practice.
Components of this project include a literature review that will be submitted for publication, a podcast series for midwifery students and educators, as well as development of future mentorship groups for midwifery new grads.
